Eoin
A native of Galway, tenor Eoin Hynes trained with internationally acclaimed tenor Emmanuel Lawler. He is a music graduate of both NUI Maynooth and the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. A multiple prizewinner at the Dublin Feis Ceoil and at the DIT Conservatory, Eoin won the tenor solo, Joseph O’Mara Cup (Opera aria), Nancy Calthrope Cup (French Song), Dermot Troy Trophy (Oratorio), the prestigious Count John McCormack Cup and the Conservatory Gold Medal on two occasions.
He was a Young Associate Artist with Opera Theatre Company 2011-2012. As a soloist on the oratorio platform, Eoin has performed works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Rossini, Gounod, Dvorak and Jenkins, as well as Cassidy’s European Premiere of Famine Remembrance, and Leighton’s Crucifixus for the Music for Galway concert series. He has performed as soloist or in principal role at the National Concert Hall, the Gaiety Theatre, the Hugh Lane Gallery, Galway Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin, St Canice’s Cathedral Kilkenny, St. Patrick’s College Maynooth and internationally, at Westminster Cathedral London andStephansdom Cathedral Vienna.
In Opera and Musical Theatre Eoin has performed the roles of First Priest, First Armed Man, Tamino (cover) with OTC’s touring production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Narrator from Bach’s Coffee Cantata OTC, soloist with Irish ballet dancer Monica Loughman for her show Masterpieces of World Opera and Ballet, Gondolier Marco Palmieri The Gondoliers and Freddy My Fair Lady with the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society. As soloist, he toured with Dance Company Rhythm of the Dance in Germany and performed at the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Baku, Azerbaijan and has performed with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, RTÉ Con Tempo Quartet, Irish Baroque Orchestra and Wiener Domorchester. In 2016, Eoin won joint first place in a competition called The Soloist performing with the acclaimed Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland for their Peace Proms U.K and Ireland concerts at Echo Arena Liverpool, R.D.S Arena Dublin, Odyssey Arena Belfast, Sports Arena Limerick. He released his Debut Album in autumn 2018.
